우리대학이 지난 2월 교육부 국립국제교육원(원장 이병현)에서 주관하는 한국어능력시험(TOPIK, Test of Proficiency in Korean) 신규 시행기관으로 지정됐다. 우리대학은 제35회 한국어능력시험(2014년 7월 시행)부터 참여할 예정이며, 매회 1천여 명을 수용할 수 있을 것으로 예상하고 있다.




이번 한국어능력시험 시행기관 지정으로 우리대학은 한국어과정 및 대학 홍보를 통한 외국인학생 유치와 외국인학생 시험 편의 도모를 통한 학교 만족도 제고의 효과를 얻을 수 있게 됐다. 전국 24개 한국어능력시험 시행기관 중 국립대로는 충북대, 충남대 2곳이 있으며, 서울소재 대학중에는 성균관대, 경희대, 건국대, 숭실대, 동국대 등 5개 대학이 있다.

한편, 한국어능력시험은 외국인 등을 대상으로 한국어 사용 능력을 측정․평가하여 그 결과를 국내 대학 유학 및 취업 등에 활용하며, 2014년에는 국내․외에서 5회가 실시된다. 지난 해 12월 실시된 제32회 시험에는 국내 21,631명, 국외 45,964명 등 총 67,595명이 응시했다.

The National Institute for International Education under the Ministry of Education appointed SeoulTech as one of the newly-appointed test centers of the Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK). SeoulTech would be sponsoring the said exam starting from 35th examination(July, 2014) and is expected to accept at least a thousand examinees each term.

This appointment boosts the university's satisfaction rating in promoting the Korean language courses and the university through attracting international students and provisions for convenience.
In the 24 test centers in the whole country, 2 are national universities: Chungbuk and Chungnam Universities, and there are 5 in Seoul: Sungkyunkwan, Kyunghee, Konkuk, Soongsil, and Dongguk Universities.

Meanwhile, the Test of Proficiency in Korean is an exam that evaluates and measure the ability of foreigners in the Korean Language that can serve as a requirement in their studies or careers. The exam will be conducted five times for the year 2014. Last December, 32nd TOPIK had 21,631 local and 45,964 abroad that made 67,595 examinees in total.
