2014학년도 1학기 외국인학생 오리엔테이션이 2014년 3월 6일(목) 16시부터 어학원 컨퍼런스홀에서 개최되었다. 신·편입 외국인학생들의 성공적인 유학생활을 위한 대학생활 학사 및 체류 관련 정보 제공을 통하여 유학 생활 적응을 높이기 위하여 마련된 이번 행사는 총 100여명의 참석으로 성황리에 진행되었다.

사전 행사로 학생들의 수강신청을 컴퓨터실에서 직접적으로 지원해주는 행정서비스가 이루어졌는데 이때 국제학생회(ISC) 및 각국 유학생회 친구들의 큰 도움이 있었다.
이번 행사 참석 구성원은 신·편입 외국인학생 19명, 외국인교환학생 48명, 내·외국인 재학생 19명, 국제학생회 12명 및 국제교류본부 8명 등이다.  2014학년도 1학기 외국인학생 오리엔테이션 알림 및 개요 설명후 참석자 소개가 이어졌다. 이어 조남욱국제교류본부장님의 신·편입 유학생 및 외국인교환학생을 환영하는 인사말씀이 이루어졌다.

오리엔테이션의 주요내용으로 수강, 학사정보, 장학금제도, 보험 가입 등 학교생활 안내 와 외국인등록증 신청, 비자, 변경신고, 체류자격외활동(아르바이트) 등 체류관리 안내 가 이어졌으며 노원경찰서 소속 외사 담당자 초청 범죄예방특강 이 진행되었다. 마지막으로 실질적으로 외국인유학생들이 도움을 받을 수 있는 국제학생회, 각국(중국, 사우디, 몽골) 유학생회 소개 및 각종 활동 안내 를 하였다.

기념사진 촬영후 어학원 로비로 이동하여 마련된 다과 및 음식을 나누며 내·외국인 재학생 간 상호 교류의 시간을 갖으며 향후 대학생활에 대한 기대감을 높이는 자리가 되었다. 언제든 외국인학생들의 유학생활중 겪는 비자, 법률, 생활, 의료, 장학금, 재정, 취업, 학사 및 기타 다양한 상담이 필요한 경우 어학원(38번 건물) 국제교류본부(02-970-9221~2) 을 방문하여 주기를 기대한다.

March 6, 2014 - The spring semester international students orientation was held at the conference hall in the Language Center. Newcomers and transferees were provided information on how to have a complacent student life and other tips that can help them on their stay in South Korea. The event was attended by more than a hundred students.

After the briefing and notifications of the 2014 Spring Semester, each participant was also introduced. The welcoming address of the newcomers and transferees was done by the newly appointed Office of International Exchange Dean, Professor Nam-Wook Cho. 

The main point of the orientation was to give international students guidelines and tips that can help them during their stay in the country and the university such as, class registration, financial aid and scholarship, health insurance, alien registration and other visa-related issues. There was also a guest speaker from the Nowon-district police department that gave a small-talk about crime prevention. Lastly, with the help of ISC(International Students Club) and current international students from different nations, another international students committee and their activities were introduced.

After having a commemorative photo shoot, everyone went to the lobby to have a time of mutual exchange between foreign students and other students while having food snacks that have been prepared.  At any time, if you require consultations about visa-related tasks, foreign students law, life, medical issues, scholarship, financial aids, employment, or other help to go through the student life, visit the Office of International Exchange located at the 1/F Language Center building (No. 38) or call (02 - 970-9221 to 2).
